Rev. Buck Cochran is the Executive Director of Peacehaven Community Farm. He is responsible for over-seeing and advancing the vision of Peacehaven, ensuring that programs are professionally designed, adequately resourcing and achieving the organization’s social, environmental and economic objectives of sustainability.
He is an ordained pastor in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Prior to starting Peacehaven he served as the Associate Pastor for Youth and Families at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, NC. Before entering the ministry, Buck served in the United States Navy for 8 years and worked for FMC Corporation in their Chemical Products Group for 6 years. Buck graduated from Wake Forest University with a degree in chemistry and from Duke University with a Master in Divinity.
Buck’s family includes his wife Cathy, who is the Director of Clinical Information Systems at Cone Health, daughter Cameron who is a student at Queens College, and son Trey who is a student at Warren Wilson College.
The passion Buck has for Peacehaven is inspiration to all he meets. Buck’s inspiration comes from, “The folks with disabilities and their families who have become involved at Peacehaven; the unbelievable support we have received from the community who give of their time and resources to bring Peacehaven to life; and the commitment and dedication of the staff and board.”
