The first few years on the farm have taught us that there is great comfort and peace in “listening” to nature and aligning our lives and work with nature’s rhythm.  In the heat of the summer, our work in the garden and around the farm will shift to enjoy the cool of the morning…in the winter, when the demands of the garden are few, our work will shift to other tasks.  Nature has a wonderful way of providing a healthy pace that creates a space for healing in our 24/7 world.

It is our deep desire for Peacehaven to be a place of healing for our community.  For people with special needs and their families, there is often a greater need for healing souls and spirits than healing their disabling conditions.  While society sees “broken” bodies or minds, the Peacehaven community sees lives that are a gift.  Life on the farm is marked by a rhythm and slower pace of life that helps create a sense of security and consistency that provides a safe foundation for growth.  Furthermore, the natural setting of the farm creates a sense of order, peace and beauty that is “good  for the soul.”

Peacehaven has established our community as a place for gathering and celebration.  Our rolling hillsides and lakefront access serve as a retreat not only for those who will live on the farm, but for those who want to re-ground themselves in our beautiful natural setting.
